Jean-Jacques Perrey : Electronic Music Pioneer – RIP

Last week saw the passing of electronic music composer and innovator Jean-Jacques Perrey. Championing electronic sounds as far back as 1957, when he first travelled around Europe demonstrating the Ondioline, a precursor to the modern synthesizer, he went on to produce nearly 30 studio albums, right up to last year’s “ELA”. He has been sampled and remixed by such artists as Gang Starr and Fatboy Slim, and recorded a full album with British acid legend Luke Vibert. A true pioneer and visionary, his impact and influence on modern electronic music will live on for many years to come
